DAILY LOG

April 10th
Luogujing Scenic Area 箩古箐景区

It rained heavily in the morning and we didn’t get away until 10:15. We were driven the 4km or so to the end of the drivable track where there was a covered bridge over the stream. Our guide was a local who kept his wood chopper in a wooden scabbard and wore a faded orange baseball cap with “Beckham 23” on it.

At an elevation of about 3,000metres there was plenty of tree cover and a good understorey of vegetation in the woods. Best birds included Black-faced Laughing Thrushes, Yellow-throated Bunting, Streak-throated Fulvetta , White-crowned Forktail, Black-faced Warbler, Green Shrike-babbler and a pair of Darjeeling Woodpeckers.
