April 1st
Gongshan 贡山to Bingzhongluo 丙中洛 Scenic Area

We arrived at the entrance to the Bingzhongluo Scenic area (38 km north of Gongshan) at 08:45. Near the entrance gate were Silver-eared Mesias, Russet Sparrow and Brown-breasted Bulbul. Shortly afterwards we paused at the “First Bend of the Nujiang” 怒江第一弯 viewpoint. Beyond Bingzhongluo town, after a wrong turning, we followed the river a few km northwards along a deep gully. We viewed a waterwheel-powered mill, and then parked where Jemi, Maicha and LKC walked up to Qiunatong 秋那桶 village. My back was hurting so I hung around near the car.

怒江第一弯 Later we had a bowl of noodles at a house occupied by a mixed family of Nu, Tibetan and Han people. We also saw them stirring the mulch for making the local wine. On the way out we stopped at the “Delamu” Bar 德拉姆 in Bingzhongluo and got some more details from the owner Leech 蚂蟥 about local features.
